Consul General Tan Banglin Meets with Governor of Jeddah

On May 16, 2018, Consul General Tan Banglin paid a courtesy call on Prince Mishaal bin Majid, Governor of Jeddah.

Consul General Tan thanked His Highness Prince Mishaal for scheduling the meeting in a short time, and also thanked the Government of Jeddah and His Highness for their support for the Chinese Consulate General. Tan pointed out that China and Saudi Arabia were long-term friends, as the Consul General of China in Jeddah, he was willing to work together with the Saudi Arabian side to actively promote bilateral relations between China and Saudi Arabia especially to expand and deepen the friendly and cooperative relations between the Chinese side and Jeddah in various fields.

Prince Mishaal welcomed Consul General Tan to assume the new post in Jeddah, indicating that Jeddah was the second largest city, the largest port, an important financial center in Saudi Arabia, and its logistics and trading radiated all countries along the Red Sea. Meanwhile, Jeddah was also an important gateway to Makkah and Madinah, the two holy cities of Islam. Prince Mishaal said he believed that Consul General Tan would make positive contribution to the development of cooperation between Jeddah and the Chinese side in various fields, pointing out that the Government of Jeddah would continue to support the Chinese Consulate General in performing its duties.
